Writer's Walk and Camden Market!

Hey guys! This week has gone by really fast-on Monday we were able to go to a DaVinci show that was really cool. They had both versions of his Virgin of the Rocks and other neat paintings. Then on Tuesday we went on a writer's walk around Chelsea where a lot of writers lived. I thought that mom might find it interesting!!

This is the chapel that Charles Dickens was married in!

This is George Eliot's house.

This where George Orwell lived-this is actually right on Portobello road, where they do a market every weekend.

This is where Mark Twain lived.

This is the home of Robert Falcon Scott the Antarctic explorer.

The home of A.A. Milne.

And this is where Oscar Wilde lived!

On Thursday we went to this yummy place for lunch that is really cool! It has all different kinds of salads-like bean salads and couscous salads, and a lot of desserts. I got an apple vanilla cake with maple frosting!

On Friday night Kendal, Lisa, Katie and I went to see Hamlet! And Hamlet was played by Michael Sheen! They did a modern adaptation of it where is was set in a psychiatric hospital. It was really good!

On Saturday I went with a few girls to go to Camden market-a funky market area that had a lot of tattoo and piercing places. So of course I just got my nose pierced, and a little tattoo to go with it :) haha just kidding! But it was a lot of fun.

These are the Stables which are apart of Camden market. They are vintage stores that are in old horse stables-they had a lot of cool things, like old theatre costumes, books, records, mirrors and clothes.

It was Kiney's dinner so we went to Wagamama's and I got some yummy chicken curry!

A Christmas Carnival just opened up at Hyde Park that we checked out last night, and it was fun! It made me excited to be home for Christmas haha Here is a picture of the Christmas market they had.

I love you all so much!!!! I hope that you are doing well, and mom and dad I am so excited to see you soon! :)

Portugal!

So this last weekend we had our travel weekend and I went with some girls to Lisbon (Lisboa), Portugal, where Aunt Hillary and Uncle Daryn served! It was a lot of fun! Lisbon is a beautiful place and full of color. The fiance of a girl in our group is studying in Portugal right now, so he was able to help us out and show us around which was really nice. He also arranged for us to stay in a flat of a senior missionary couple, and they were so sweet to us! Elder and Sister Lund made us breakfast and dinner every night, and were a lot of fun to talk to. Here are some of the things that we did while we were there...

This is the Castillo de Los Moros (Moorish Castle) in Sitra, which is just a little bit outside of Lisbon.

Here is the view from the castle!

This was one of my favorite places that we visited. It is right next to the castle and it is called the Palacio Nacional de Pena (Pena National Palace). It is a beautiful palace with a lot of fun colors and mosaic tiles.

Cool tiles on the Palace.

We rode the metro and buses while we were there, but we also took this cable care that was sweet!

Taylor took us to a famous pastry place in Lisbon called Pasteis de Belem.

Here are the Pasteis de Belem!!! They were very yummy.

This is the Mosteiro dos Jeronimos-a really cool monastery. Vasco da Gama the Portuguese explorer and Luis de Camoes a famous Portuguese poet are buried there.

We went to a cool Modern art gallery called the Museu Coleccao Berardo and there were some great things there! This is piece by an artist that I like, Anish Kapoor!

My good friend Liechtenstein. It is a mirror...or is it?

Here is a cool Andy Warhol piece of Judy Garland.

This is a tower by the river called the Torre de Belem. It is really pretty and had a beautiful view from the top. These are all the girls in the group that I went with-Kendal, Camilia, Katie, Lisa, Kinsey and Alison!

A cool cathedral-me, Lisa, Kendal, Alison.

We ate a traditional Portuguese meal at a restaurant-this is fried fish and potatoes and onions. It was yummy!

The City of Paris!

Bonjour! Last week we spent five days in Paris and it was great! I really really like Paris. It is similar to London, but if felt less rushed and more open. However, I felt that the metro there was pretty rough compared to London's tube! In the metro you pretty much have to fight for your life! haha But here are some of the things that we did!

Picture of the River Seine-the trees are so beautiful and are changing colors.

NOTRE DAME!!!

This is the inside of the Notre-Dame. We walked through the inside and it was so beautiful!

We also climbed to the top of Notre-Dame and the view was amazing. It was also a rainy day, so it made it even better. Here I am chilling with the gargoyles.

Here I am impersonating Quasi moto with one of the largest and oldest bells in the tower. This bell is only rung for special religious occasions.

The Eiffel tower!!!

Seeing the Eiffel tower was like a dream come true! haha At night we went up to the top, and it was beautiful. I can't believe how big it is! And at the night, lights on the tower flash and sparkle every hour.

Here is a view of the Eiffel from the Arc de Triomphe!

One night we went to see a ballet called La Source-it was really good!

This is San Chapelle! It was one of my favorite places to go!

This is Sacre Coeur, a large chapel on top of this mountain that outlooks onto Paris!

The view from Sacre Coeur.

The Arc de Triomphe!

We climbed to the top of the Arc, and it was also a beautiful view!

On Wednesday we spent the morning at Versailles! It was so large and beautiful.

The back of the Palace that faces the gardens.

The fountains with the nice red tractor over the the right. haha I felt like that tractor was in a lot of my pictures!

The fountain and gardens!

The trees were gorgeous! We also rode bikes around the gardens that was really fun!
